Sac Midtown: Electronics 101 — Learn to Solder!

Build your first soldering project on a printed circuit board.  At the end of this hands-on class you will take home a Blink circuit board, complete with LED’s, switches, resistors and a battery.


Class Description

Emma custom-designed this beginner soldering kit for Rocket Department, a company she helped co-found.  All students will have plenty of opportunity to practice soldering in this hands-on class.  This is a good introduction class for people who want to learn to solder!


Materials: All materials will be provided by the instructor.  Tools such as soldering irons are available at HackerLab, or you can bring your own.

Materials Fee: Non-members, the fee will be included in your class fee.  HackerLab members: please be sure to bring $10 to cover the materials fee for this class.

About the Instructor

Emma Fletcher has a passion for programming and electronics. She loves all things Maker and especially enjoys robots, LED installations, Arduino & Raspberry Pi. She is a co-founder of Rocket Department, Inc which she started with other Hacker Lab members 2 years ago. She also works as a Software Engineer at Intel on Solid State Drives.
