Maker Project Class!

You’re going to love this class!  This is for beginner-level Do-it-Yourselfers.  Take this great class to build a Kentucky-style wire frame chair plus side table, for use in your yard or garden.  You will go home with a finished project, plus plans to build your own if you want to make another one.


Class Description

  • Safety and Use of the equipment for this project
  • “Intro to Woodshop” class will help but is not required
  • Students will be using the Table saw, Drill Press, sander, and Jig saw
  • Build your own chair using professional quality designs
  • Class will include sanding and staining to finish the pieces

We will teach you about layout and maximizing cuts for the material you use.  You will go home with a finished chair, and a set of plans to build your next one!

Class Details

Class Times:   This is a 2-day class

Friday, April 21st, from 6:00-9:00 pm
and  Saturday, April 22nd, from 12:00-3:00 pm

Class Costs:    Class fee for the total class is $125.  For Resident Members only: please bring $25 to class to pay for materials fee.  All others, the materials fee is built into your class cost.

What to Bring / Wear?

This is a Maker Shop class.  Please wear appropriate clothing: long pants or a longish skirt, and closed toed shoes.  If you have long hair, please tie it back.

Wear clothes that you are comfortable getting dirty.  And at least part of the class will be outside, while you finish the pieces.  Bring sunscreen or a hat – whatever you need to keep yourself comfortable.

About the Instructor

Jim Brown has been involved with construction for 30 years, building residential and commercial projects all over the west coast.  Jim respects labor and the tools that built America, and is happy to share his passion for building with you.
